Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022. The induction came after Parton initially turned down the Hall’s nomination because she felt undeserving. But after the Hall clarified that it doesn’t just honor devoted rock artists, Parton changed her mind.

Parton’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has inspired her to create a rock album. She’s talked about it for months now, and revealed that it will be titled Rock Star.

Then, Parton shared a ton of new information about the album during an interview on The View on January 17.

She dropped the names of some of her superstar collaborators during her appearance on the show. Her album will feature contributions from Stevie Nicks, Paul McCartney, Cher, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, John Fogerty, Steve Perry, and Steven Tyler. Parton also hopes she’ll be able to get Mick Jagger, Elton John, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant on the album too.

Parton specifically mentioned that she thinks P!nk and Brandi Carlile will be singing with her on a cover of The Rolling Stones‘ “Satisfaction.”

We can’t help but wonder if the new album will include Dolly Parton‘s song “Rockin’.” She performed the song for the first time during her induction ceremony at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Watch that performance below.

Rock Star will be released later in 2023. We can’t wait to hear it!
