American Idol Fans Contemplate The Show’s Future On ABC
American Idol‘s 21st season is still underway, but fans are already thinking ahead.
Based on a recent announcement, it turns out ABC is thinking ahead too. The channel has served as the latest home network for Idol following its original 15-year run on Fox. Idol was on hiatus for two years until ABC picked it up in 2018.
Since then, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry have served as the show’s judges. Ryan Seacrest has served as the show’s host, just like he did when it was on Fox.

Some Idol winners post-ABC revival have included Noah Thompson, Just Sam, and Maddie Poppe. We’ll soon have another winner, as Season 21 is nearing its end. Its finale will air on Sunday (May 21). That’s when we’ll find out if Megan Danielle, Iam Tongi, or Colin Stough is our next American Idol.
Unlike The Voice, Idol runs one season each year, usually starting in the early months of the year. So will fans have a new season to look forward to in early 2024?

It has yet to be confirmed if Bryan, Richie, Perry, and Seacrest are returning. Based on past announcements, we can expect to hear news regarding their involvement sometime in the summer.
