Cole Hauser & Kelly Reilly’s “Dutton Ranch” Co-Stars Share What They’re Truly Like Off-Camera
on May 28, 2026

Some of the stars from Dutton Ranch recently sat down to share their experiences working with the series’ leads, Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly.
Dutton Ranch is a new Yellowstone spin-off following Rip Wheeler (Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Reilly) as they find their footing on a new ranch in Texas. The series debuted on May 15th, and its premiere attracted 12.9 million viewers. This made it the most-watched series premiere of all time on Paramount+.
Hauser and Reilly returned from Yellowstone to play their characters in the new series. Finn Little, who originally played Carter on Yellowstone, also reprises his role in Dutton Ranch.
The rest of the cast includes new actors and characters, such as Oreana Jackson (played by Natalie Alyn Lind) and Zachariah (played by Marc Menchaca).
Little, Lind, and Menchaca were recently interviewed by Country Living about the show. They discussed what they’ve learned from Hauser and Reilly, and what the actors are truly like off-camera.
Menchaca said, “For me, it was not at all serious behind the scenes because, one, the dynamic between Cole, J.R. [Villarreal, who plays Azul], and I—I think Cole and I being, you know, the elder statesmen of our group, we were heralded by J.R.’s life. So there was a lot of laughter behind the scenes.”
Menchaca also described Reilly as “an incredibly generous and lovely person.”
Lind said she’s learned a lot from working with Reilly and Annette Bening, who plays her character Oreana’s grandmother, Beulah Jackson.
“Annette and Kelly are some of the best role models that you could ever have in a working environment, and being able to see the way that they own their power is just inspirational,” she remarked.
Little, who started playing Carter on Yellowstone when he was only 14, has gotten to know Hauser and Reilly quite well over the years. The “blessings” he’s received from them have been more subconscious and subtle, rather than direct, sit-down lessons.
“I think that all comes more subconsciously; you know, just being in that environment, being around such high-caliber actors,” Little said. “I think you just pick up things after a while.”
