James Jordan is one of the most recognizable faces in Taylor Sheridan’s TV universe. But will he be back for Landman Season 3?
More than 14 million viewers tuned in for the Landman Season 2 finale back in January, making it Paramount+’s most-watched original series finale ever.

With how popular the show has become, it wasn’t much of a surprise when Landman was renewed for Season 3.
But at this point, it’s been over six months since the announcement, and fans still don’t know much about what’s coming next.
Filming has not begun yet, and there are still a lot of unanswered questions. One of the biggest is whether all of the fan-favorite characters will be back.
Many viewers are worried because Sheridan has never been afraid to write off major characters to keep fans guessing. This has led to plenty of fan theories online about who will be killed off next.
Billy Bob Thornton recently shut down rumors about his fate on the show. And now, James Jordan is the latest cast member to give fans peace of mind about his character’s future.

Is James Jordan Returning For Landman Season 3?
James Jordan recently spoke with Us Weekly about whether fans can expect to see him back for another season.
Jordan plays Dale, an experienced oil rigger and Tommy’s closest friend.
“No, I would not be concerned [about my future on the show],” he revealed. “I don’t know everything, but I would not be concerned.”
He also shared that he officially has the script for season 3.
“I’ve got the season 3 script. It was sent to me right in this phone,” he said. “I will guard it with my life. But I snuck a quick peek. I really have to read it later, but it’s going to be amazing.”
Jordan has become one of Taylor Sheridan’s go-to actors over the years. He’s appeared in eight different Sheridan projects, including Wind River, Yellowstone, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Lioness, The Madison, and, of course, Landman.
“I can’t say no to the man. He’s my favorite writer in our business. I admire him. He’s a mentor. He’s a friend,” Jordan told Us Weekly.
“No one works harder than Taylor. He never compromises. And when someone comes to you and says, ‘Hey man, I want to use you again in a project.’ If someone works that hard and comes to you and says, ‘I trust you, I believe in you, I’m confident in your ability,’ then you show up. You want to work your butt [off] for him.”
Filming for Landman Season 3 is expected to begin in late August or early September in Fort Worth, Texas. Fans can likely expect the new season to arrive sometime in early 2027.
