Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA” Celebrates 40 Years
Lee Greenwood wrote and recorded “God Bless The USA” 40 years ago, and since then, it has become an anthem that inspires unity and patriotism across the nation. When the song was first released, it reached No.7 on the country charts, and over the years, it has grown into a musical staple, continuing to be a go-to song for many Americans.

It’s no secret that “God Bless The USA” has become one of history’s most popular patriotic songs. Because of this, Greenwood has re-recorded the tune several times over the years, such as for his 1992 album American Patriot, followed by another version in 2003 titled “God Bless the U.S.A. 2003.”
Most recently, he celebrated the 40th anniversary of his iconic song with a special Patriot session in collaboration with Country Rebel. This powerful rendition is a stripped-back acoustic version, proving that even in its rawest form, the song remains just as impactful as ever.
