One of the biggest, and best, parts of being a musician is touring the country and even sometimes, the world! One person in the country music world who seems to always be on tour is Luke Bryan. He routinely goes on a summer tour that rolls into the fall, and also during the fall, he embarks on a Farm Tour. Sometimes, due to popular demand, his summer tour gets extended into the next year. He also always hosts a multi-day music festival in Mexico called Crash My Playa.

On top of all that performing, he is also a judge on the ABC reboot of American Idol, which wrapped up its first season back in May. The second season has been picked up, which means Bryan’s schedule is going to be a little hectic, once again!

When we wrapped [Idol], I was hoping they would pick us up again because I felt like we really hit our momentum kind of midway through,” Bryan said in an interview. “I felt like everyone was gelling as a team and our ratings were constantly getting better every week.”

We knew when I took on Idol that it was going to take up a lot of my off season time,” Bryan explains. “Next year, I’m going to trim a few dates off the tour. I just kinda need to settle in that mold of not doing 100 shows a year and scale back a hair.

Not only does he have to work around Idol‘s rigorous schedule, he also has to factor in his sons’ baseball games and his nephew’s football games.

I’ve got to start looking at like baseball schedules because my boys are getting to where, in the spring, they are playing baseball,” the “Some People Are Good” singer said. “They are old enough to know that Dad’s halfway across the world.

With a schedule as crazy as Bryan’s we totally understand the reason he needs to cut back on being on the road! He is one busy guy! Watch Luke sing his latest single “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” at a live show in the video below.
