Luke Grimes Has One “Fear” About ‘Marshals’ Season 2 – And It Involves Kayce

Luke Grimes can’t wait for Season 2 of Marshals to premiere, but he does have one concern about the new episodes.
Grimes will return as Kayce Dutton alongside the rest of the Marshals cast when the show officially comes back on October 4.
The Yellowstone spinoff ended its first season with an intense finale and a major cliffhanger that left viewers with plenty of questions. Of course, we won’t get all the answers until the new episodes arrive, but CBS did release an official trailer ahead of the Season 2 premiere.
Now, fans have a better idea of how a few of their favorite characters’ stories will continue.

Luke Grimes Shares His “Fear” About The New Season Of Marshals
Grimes also teased a little bit about what fans can expect from Season 2. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, he said the new season will bring “more of the same things that I enjoyed about season 1.”
“We’re going a little bit more into some backstory, which we started to do in season 1 anyway,” he continued. “You know so much about Kayce already, but I feel like the other characters are starting to catch up as far as their relationship with the audience. But as far as like the tone, the pace, it’s a lot of the same things that I liked about the first season.”
That being said, Grimes doesn’t want things to feel too similar. He says one of his biggest fears is that viewers will start losing interest in Kayce’s storyline if the only thing that happens to him is one bad thing after another.
If you’ve been following Grime’s character since the original Yellowstone days and now into Marshals, you know Kayce had faced more than his fair share of tough moments over the years.
“Wouldn’t you think that he’s just broken at this point? Everything that could have gone wrong for this guy goes wrong,” Grimes says, adding, “One of my fears of season 2 is: Is it gonna be so much that people are sick of it? I don’t want him to be Debbie Downer.”
Thankfully, it seems like things may start improving for Kayce in some ways. Grimes says he’ll be putting himself out there more this season and getting closer to his U.S. Marshal team members: Cal (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle (Arielle Kebbel), Cruz (Ash Santos), and Miles (Tatanka Means).
“He’s hanging out with everybody a little more. He’s going to the bar a little more. He starts to try to invest in his relationships with his teammates, and I think it gets him out of his shell in a good way,” Grimes said.
Fans will just have to tune in to see what’s in store for Kayce, whether that means finally finding a little happiness or facing even more drama.
