Kid Rock And Bill Maher Met At White House To Bridge The Political Gap

Kid Rock, Bill Maher, Dana White, and President Donald Trump walk into … a dinner together.

This meeting of these members of disparate political allegiances almost sounds unreal, but it happened on March 31 at the White House.

Arranged by conservative artist Kid Rock, this meeting was intended to bridge the divide.

The day before the meeting, Trump posted on Truth Social that he had told Kid Rock that he “really didn’t like the idea much … but thought it would be interesting.”

Of the special guest, Maher, Trump described him as a “man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP.”

Still, he said he gave the dinner the OK as a “favor for a friend” — that friend being Kid Rock.

Looking back on the dinner, Maher said he and Kid Rock “share a belief that there’s got to be something better than hurling insults from 3,000 miles away.”

Maher took a moment on the April 11 broadcast of his HBO show Real Time With Bill Maher to poke fun at individuals who thought of this meeting as a “summit,” saying, “You’re ridiculous. Like I was going to sign a treaty or something? I have no power!”

Ultimately, Maher said he largely remains unchanged, but was pleased that Trump approached him as someone who could be a friend.

Kid Rock Looks Back

However, having some distance from the meeting, Kid Rock was left wanting.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Kid Rock let out his frustrations.

“What the f—?” Kid Rock expressed. “This is something, no matter what your politics are, that should be a positive thing for our country, and I could care less about the accolades.”

Saying he’s “done” with news organizations and the media, as well cancel culture and boycotts, Kid Rock laid into the media for what he perceives to be a misconstruing of the meeting he arranged.

Even more, he also pointed to a lack of media coverage, in general.

“Most of you know this is a positive thing that really helps our country out, but I guess it paints President Trump in some sort of good light, so you’re like, ‘No, we’re not going to report on it,'” Kid Rock said of the media ignoring the story.

Noting he was disappointed to not see the story of their meeting sufficiently covered on even local news in Nashville, Tennessee, Kid Rock concluded his X video comments by quoting from his 1998 song “Devil Without A Cause,” telling the mainstream media, “F— all you, h—!”
