Morgan Wallen Won The CMA’s Entertainer Of The Year Award In November 2024
Four months after being named the CMA Entertainer of the Year, Morgan Wallen finally acknowledged his win for the first time.
Wallen scored the highest number of nominations going into the 2024 CMA Awards, with seven nods. He earned nominations for some of the night’s top prizes, including Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
Wallen had been nominated for Entertainer of the Year twice before but never won. This always surprised fans since Wallen often sells out his shows and breaks countless records.

As The Tennessean explains, after Wallen was caught on camera saying a racial slur in 2021, the CMA deemed him ineligible for nomination in any of the solo categories that year. That included Entertainer of the Year. The ACM Awards and CMT Music Awards also deemed him ineligible for nomination that year.
But even once he became eligible for CMA Entertainer of the Year again, and earned nominations in 2022 and 2023, Wallen still didn’t win. Many fans speculated the CMA continued to “snub” him due to his past controversies.
Fans finally got their wish when Wallen won the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year award in 2024. But he didn’t attend the ceremony, so he didn’t accept his trophy on TV.
Wallen Shares A Photo Of His Trophy In Instagram Photo Dump
Beyond not attending the 2024 CMA Awards, Wallen never publicly acknowledged his win. However, he shared a message thanking fans after he won four Billboard Music Awards in December 2024, one month after the CMA Awards.
Wallen finally acknowledged his CMA Entertainer of the Year win in a photo dump he shared on Instagram on Tuesday (March 11). The first picture shows him in the studio, presumably working on his new album, I’m the Problem.
The third photo shows Wallen’s Entertainer of the Year trophy in a case or box. He didn’t say anything about the trophy, as he simply captioned his post, “lil this lil that.”
