Reba McEntire’s Daughter-In-Law Reveals Baby’s Full Name

Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, and daughter-in-law, Marissa Blackstock, are expecting their first child together.
Marissa shared the good news in April with a joint post on Instagram with her husband of four years.
“Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you!” she wrote alongside a series of photos of her and Shelby showing off a Mickey Mouse onesie at their favorite place, and where they got married, Disney World!
Marissa’s Baby Shower Took Place On July 11
Shelby and Marissa were showered by their friends and family with a “Welcome To The World Tour”-themed baby shower.
It was hosted at the Vinyl Vault in Nashville, Tennessee ad featured All-Access passes for guests, a platinum record for guests to sign, and a gorgeous photo op with a balloon arch and blue and gold backdrop.
The couple also revealed that the baby’s name will be Archer, Archie for short.
Marissa’s mom made sure her daughter had a cake from Taylor’s Bakery in Indianapolis, her favorite bakery!
The Shower Took Place Just Days After A Very Difficult Day
On Monday (July 6), Marissa shared a photo of her on her wedding day hugging a man and wrote, “I can’t breathe,” alongside a broken-heart emoji.
She followed that slide up with another from her childhood, writing, “My best friend is gone. My Clown.”
On Tuesday (July 14), Marissa revealed that the man she was mourning in her Instagram Stories was her stepdad, Claude.
“For those who don’t know, I lost the man who raised me, my stepdad Claude, last Monday. Then just a few days later, we celebrated our baby shower for Shelby Archer,” she wrote.
Marissa continued, “By Saturday, I was running on fumes, trying to hold grief and joy at the same time. But our village carried us.”
She then thanked everyone who attended and friends who weren’t able to come but still sent their love.
“Sitting in Archie’s nursery, surrounded wall-to-wall by all the thoughtful gifts, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. We are so incredibly blessed,” she wrote.
marissa has so much love for Claude, and shared a sweet fatherd-daughter dance with him at her wedding, which she documented the following Father’s Day.
The Baby’s Full Name Revealed
While prior to Tuesday, we did know the baby’s name would be Archer, we didn’t realize it was actually his middle name! His full name will be Shelby Archer Blackstock, named after his father.
Marissa and the Blackstock family have faced their fair share of grief in the last couple years, beginning with the death of Shelby’s brother, Brandon Blackstock in August 2025, followed by Marissa’s dad in November 2025, and then finally a miscarriage in December.
Baby Archer will be such a light for the couple, and we can’t wait to watch them become parents!
