Her enthusiasm for the event is evident as she eagerly looks forward to catching up with old friends, discovering new talent, and getting to sing herself.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, she expressed her excitement about the event, saying, “I like to go visit with everyone. I love live television. I get to sing a song, see what everybody else is promoting, their new material, but basically just to get to see my old friends and meet new people”

To ensure that her backstage experience is seamless, Reba has meticulously outlined a rider that caters to her essential needs. The backstage haven she envisions includes a constant supply of water, a trash can, her trusty Kleenexes, and a clock to keep track of time.
Additionally, a selection of snacks is crucial to keeping her energy levels up and preventing bouts of ‘hangriness’ due to fluctuating blood sugar levels.
“We have to have a few snacks around there. If my blood sugar gets a little low, we got to pump that back up because [there’s] no time for getting a little hangry. We don’t want to be that!”
As Reba McEntire prepares for her 17th time hosting the ACM Awards, she candidly acknowledges that she still experiences nerves.
“The adrenaline is running, and if you can make it those first two steps and get those first two or three sentences out, you loosen up — or I do anyway,” she said. “But it’s a lot of fun to do because, like I said, I love live television.”
With her meticulous backstage preparations and clear excitement, fans can expect another remarkable hosting performance from the legendary country music icon.
The 2024 ACM Awards are set to stream live via Prime Video on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
