Reba Reveals How “Happy’s Place” Cast Celebrated Dolly Day On Set

Reba McEntire celebrated her late friend Dolly Parton with a special gathering on the set of her show Happy’s Place.
Years after the conclusion of her hit sitcom Reba, the “Fancy” singer returned to television with Happy’s Place. The series debuted in October 2024, and the pilot episode reached more than 10 million viewers across all platforms. It went on to become the most-watched comedy series to ever launch on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
Happy’s Place follows Reba’s character Bobbie as she inherits after her late father’s bar following his passing, only to learn that she has a much younger half-sister with whom she has to share the inheritance.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the show had been renewed for a third season. Production is currently in the way. The series premiere is set for October 23rd on NBC and Peacock.
A Feast Fit For Dolly
On Friday, September 25th, cities across the nation celebrated “Dolly Day.” The date was chosen in reference to Dolly Parton‘s hit song “9 to 5.” Additionally, it marked exactly one month since her passing at the age of 80.
For the occasion, many businesses offered Dolly-inspired specials and donated a portion of the proceeds back to her Imagination Library. Additional celebrations include parades, lookalike contests, fireworks, and more.
Reba had a close personal friendship with Dolly and, of course, could not let the day pass without recognition, even while she was busy filming. In celebration, the chef on set prepared some of Dolly’s favorites for the Happy’s Place cast.
Reba took viewers through the menu, which included coleslaw, macaroni salad, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, a baked potato bar, and banana pudding. The spread looked fantastic – a feast fit for the Queen of Country Music. Reba shared:
“Thank you, Dolly, for inspiring us to eat well, eat healthy, and have fun. We’ll always love you.”
