Rhonda Vincent’s 2-Year-Old Granddaughter Sweetly Sings “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” At The Opry
on • Updated

If Rhonda Vincent is “The Queen of Bluegrass,” then her granddaughter, Faye, may be the Princess.
Rhonda joined the Grand Ole Opry family in 2021. That family already included her actual brother, Darrin Vincent, who became an Opry member when his duo Dailey & Vincent was inducted in 2017.
You could say that singing at the Opry is a Vincent family affair! That was further proven to be true when Rhonda welcomed her daughter, Sally, and granddaughter, Faye, onstage during a recent show.
A video from the Opry shows Rhonda smiling from ear to ear as she gestured toward two-year-old Faye. The little girl proudly stood in the center of the Circle while holding a ukulele.
Rhonda asked Faye if she’d like to sing something, and Sally scooped her up to hold her in front of the microphone. With a little lead-in from Rhonda, Faye sweetly sang the chorus of the Carter Family classic, “Can the Circle Be Unbroken” (otherwise known as “Will the Circle Be Unbroken, more on that later).
Faye quickly proved to be a natural onstage and didn’t seem the least bit nervous. Once she finished singing, the crowd celebrated with a warm round of applause, and she thanked them for it.
You can watch the adorable moment when Rhonda Vincent’s granddaughter sang “Can the Circle Be Unbroken” in the video below.
Rhonda Vincent’s Granddaughter Is One Many Singers Who’ve Performed “Can The Circle Be Unbroken”
“Can the Circle Be Unbroken” traces back to the Christian hymn “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” which was written by Ada R. Habershon in 1907. The original music was created by Charles H. Gabriel.
The Carter Family’s A. P. Carter reimagined the song as a funeral hymn, weaving the original “by and by” chorus into a series of new verses. Renaming the song “Can the Circle Be Unbroken,” the Carter Family released their recording in 1935.
It’s this version of the song that you hear many of your favorite artists performing today, although it’s still often referred to by its original “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” name. The song is deeply connected to the Grand Ole Opry as well, since it has a “Circle” that artists step into whenever they appear onstage.
“Will the Circle Be Unbroken” was performed at the end of the massive Opry 100 TV special in 2025, which marked the Opry’s 100th birthday. Rhonda Vincent was one of the 50+ Opry members who participated in that closing performance, which you can watch below.
Maybe one day, little Faye will be up on that stage celebrating the Opry’s 150th birthday!
