The Story Behind “I Do”
In his new blog post, “the story behind ‘I Do,'” Rory explained why he wrote this special song for Rebecca. His reason was simple: he wanted to create something unique that captured their new love story. The song was Rory’s way of giving Rebecca a personal, meaningful gift to mark the start of their life together.
“This past spring, when Rebecca and I decided to get married, I knew I wanted to do something special for her. To try to make her something that shared how I feel about her and this new journey that we were going on together,” Rory shared. “To let her know how blessed I feel to be the one who gets to spend this life making her happy. And one afternoon as I was holding my guitar, that thought turned into a few lines, and a short time later, a song.”
Since releasing “I Do,” the song has touched many people. Rory said that it’s been “incredibly humbling” to witness so many strangers feel such strong emotions about the song and their story.
Rory even said that he believes the story behind the song is even more special than the song itself.
“Honestly, as beautiful as the 3 minute song and video are…for me, the story of how they came to be is even more special…”
