Miranda Lambert appeared on Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend

Miranda Lambert stopped by comedian and podcaster Theo Von’s studio to record an episode of his fan-favorite podcast, where things went a little sideways.

In the nearly 90-minute podcast, the two talked about many things, including the release of her latest album, Postcards From Texas.

The show’s notes read, “Miranda Lambert joins Theo to chat about her journey from playing rodeos to becoming one of the biggest names in country music, meeting Gypsy Rose as a Make-a-Wish kid, and the band she loves that you might not expect.”

During their chat, they had a conversation about the weekly radio show American Top 40 with host Casey Kasem. This show would air typically on Sundays and count down the 40 most popular songs in radio that week.

What brought that short conversation up was Von bringing up the country music show Cryin’, Lovin’ Or Leavin’, where listeners would call in and say if they were crying, loving, or leaving.

Lambert loved the show as well and said, “I want to find that and listen to it. I wonder if it exists somewhere on YouTube. I would listen to that!”

Von’s producer essentially said, “Say less,” and within seconds, he pulled up the first clip available online.

Without even seeing what song was requested, the producer played the clip. As the caller was requesting the song, Lambert read the description and exclaimed, “Perfect song, by the way!”

Miranda Lambert was shocked when she heard her famous ex-husband’s song being played.

The clip Von’s producer played was of a listener requesting the Blake Shelton song “God Gave Me You.”

While Shelton did not write “God Gave Me You,” the Dave Barnes-written song did inspire him to propose to Lambert. His music video even included Lambert speaking to a camera less than 36 hours before she married the “God’s Country” singer.

The song also served as the former couple’s first dance song.

As she is laughing, the “Wranglers” singer said, “Perfect. Perfect. That is so perfect!

Von looked so embarrassed and wanted to reassure Lambert that they did not play the song on purpose.

“There’s no way… Miranda I swear to God, we did not pick that on purpose, I had no idea we would talk about that [radio show].”

“My first wedding song, guys, let’s play that!”

Von was even more in disbelief and said, “Was it really? I’m so sorry.” He said all of that through laughter! He asked her again if she believes him that they didn’t do that on purpose.

“I love it. We just manifested all of that,” Lambert replied. We’re crying, loving and leaving now, bye!”

The whole segment was absolutely hilarious and Lambert was a really good sport about it. As we all know, Lambert and Shelton divorced in 2016 and both have since remarried.
