The final season of Last Man Standing will have fans seeing double!

Last Man Standing and Home Improvement are getting a crossover episode! Sitcom star Tim Allen will reprise his role of Tim Taylor from the sitcom Home Improvement for a television special that fans will not want to miss!

Home Improvement premiered back in 1991 and aired for eight seasons. While the show was canceled just before the 21st century, Allen told the Kelly Clarkson Show that people still resonate with “The Tool Man” Taylor. Mainly, fans will ask Allen to impersonate his character’s signature grunt.

“It’s ‘grunt for me!'” Allen joked during his interview.

The final installment of Last Man Standing will continue to follow the lives of Mike and Vanessa Baxter. The series will also experience time jumps and shadow reality by showing how the Baxter family steers through life in a pandemic.

Fans can take a peek at the anticipated doppelgänger episode in the show’s teaser. Characters Mike Baxter and Tim Taylor meet when Baxter’s wife, Vanessa, calls for a home repairman. In the clip, Allen also gives a wink to another former role when Baxter chooses to forgo shaving during the pandemic.

“I could play…Santa Claus,” Baxter says in the clip, which gives an obvious nod to Allen’s role in the Christmas franchise, The Santa Clause.

The ninth season of Last Man Standing premieres on Jan. 3 at 9:30/8:30 CST on Fox
