Tyler Childers Announces First Release In 2 Years
on Sep 07, 2022
Tyler Childers hasn’t posted on social media since September 18, 2020. IHis September 2020 post was promoting his album Long Violent History. The album peaked at number six on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart and at number 45 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
All of the net proceeds from this album went to the Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund.

Well, fans have been patiently waiting Childers’ next release and on September 2, they were given a 15-second clip of what seemed to be a music video. The video had no caption and featured a rugged looking man waking up from presumably being unconscious.

Margo Price commented, “Oh sh*t,” while Billy Strings’s reaction was, “Ohh sh*t ???” Another commenter said, “HE’S BACK.”
On September 6th, Childers posted a two-minute trailer on YouTube and his social media channels. It showed the man, played by musician Casey Campbell, waking up from a drunken stupor in the woods and finding his way back to his friends, including Childers himself. The end of the trailer, the group of men walk away to go play music, which we can only assume will be Childers’ new release.
Some comments on the trailer on social media were as follows:
“Goddamn am I ready for this”
“I don’t know what’s happening but I love it.”
“something is def cooking”
Childers confirmed our suspicions to be true on September 7th when he revealed that a brand-new song, titled “Angel Band,” would be released on Thursday (Sept 8) at 8am Eastern Time. He also gave a little preview of the song and it sounds incredible!
The teaser features all the men walking into a barn, with Campbell looking to the sky and Childers singing the word “Hallelujah.”
