Jacquie Roar and BIAS Face Off With An Electrifying Performance of Jelly Roll’s Hit “Need A Favor”
Season 24 of The Voice is underway and returns Monday (Oct 23) with the second installment of the Battle Rounds. During the Battle Rounds, the coaches pit two of their own team members against one another in a high-stakes duet. The contestants must earn their coach’s confidence to be selected as the winner and advance to the next round of the competition.
In a newly-released preview, contestants Jacquie Roar and BIAS from Team Gwen go head-to-head with an impressive rendition of Jelly Roll’s hit song “Need A Favor.” The song was originally released at the end of last year and made its way to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
The Judges Are Split After The Intense Battle
After each battle performance, the coach of the competing pair, who in this case is Gwen Stefani, has the daunting task of selecting a winner and sending one person home. The additional three coaches have the opportunity to give feedback and help the unlucky coach make a decision. After Jacquie and BAIS’s talented display, which earned a standing ovation, John Legend starts the conversation:
“Jacquie your voice is so powerful, and your range is so wonderful. BIAS, I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. You were enjoying every moment. Your energy was playing off of each other really well. If I were to choose my favorite… I think BIAS.”
Reba McEntire follows with similar remarks, adding that if she were Gwen Stefani she would take “both of ‘em.” Finally, she casts her vote for Jacquie.
Before admitting that we would “learn toward BIAS,” Niall Horan adds:
“It’s so hard to sing a song like that and have that much control. Both of you didn’t put a foot wrong.”
And The Battle Victory Goes To…
We don’t know! The winner of the battle has not been revealed just yet. Tune in on Monday, October 23rd at 8/7c to see who wins.
