As Scotty neared the end of “Cab in a Solo” while singing it in Oklahoma City, he surprised the audience by bringing Avery out onstage. He looked cute as could be in a pair of denim overalls and a large pair of hearing protection earmuffs.
Fan-filmed videos from the concert show Scotty kneeling down beside his son onstage. He kept singing as he encouraged Avery to wave at the crowd.
Then, he turned to his son and asked, “You wanna sing it, buddy?”
Avery nodded, and Scotty held out the microphone. Without missing a beat, the little guy confidently sang the song’s last line as the crowd roared like wild.

Scotty McCreery Recently Released A Retrospective Album
Avery is the oldest of Scotty McCreery’s two children, whom he shares with his wife, Gabi. Their youngest son, Oliver, will celebrate his first birthday on September 18th.
The McCreerys have been celebrating a lot this year. 15 years ago, Scotty was named the winner of American Idol, which opened the door to his career.
Scotty has been reflecting on that milestone all year long. He wanted to give his fans something special to mark the occasion, so on July 17th, he released a new, retrospective record, aptly titled 15.

15 includes nine of Scotty’s previously released hits, including “Cab in a Solo.” The album also features a brand-new track, “Been a Good Run,” which he co-wrote with Rodney Clawson, Monty Criswell, and Derek George.
Additionally, the album contains three covers. Josh Turner joined Scotty to sing a reimagined version of “Your Man,” which he performed for his Idol audition 15 years ago. The album also includes Scotty’s versions of Conway Twitty’s “Hello Darlin'” and Kris Kristofferson’s “Why Me, Lord.”
Listen to those songs below. Who knows, maybe little Avery will follow in his dad’s footsteps and record his own album one day!
