What’s Happening With Yellowstone?

Yellowstone fans are growing increasingly agitated about the show’s lack of progress. If you recall, the show took a midseason break in January, promising to return with the second half of Season 5 this summer.

However, the cast has not started filming yet, and it’s already April.

Rumors started swirling about behind-the-scenes drama tying back to the series’ lead, Kevin Costner. It was alleged that Costner wanted to cut down the number of days he’d have to be on set.

Costner’s attorney addressed these reports, calling them “ridiculous.”

Concerns Grow…

Then, fans’ concerns grew when members of the main cast failed to appear at a scheduled panel at PaleyFest in Los Angeles, California. Show creator Taylor Sheridan was also supposed to appear, but did not.

Their absence was not announced in advance, which angered fans who paid a lot of money for tickets to the event. Only Josh Lucas (young John Dutton), Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), Dawn Olivieri (Sarah Atwood), and Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry) participated in the event, along with Keith Cox, the president of development and production at Paramount.

Cox tried to ease fans’ worries, saying:

What I can say is our star, the face of our show and the executive producer, are very confident he’s going to continue with our show.”

Still, some members of the cast have no idea when Season 5 will resume filming. Lainey Wilson, who plays Abby, told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month:

“I haven’t got a call yet, but as far as I know they don’t even know when they’re going to be filming.”

Back in February, Wes Bentley, who plays Jamie Dutton, told Entertainment Weekly:

“The news that’s come out recently about the show is, you know, it’s above my pay grade. Different people making decisions. I know that they’re still working on…working things out with everyone, to make sure we shoot. And I’m confident we will. We always have before. I think it’s probably a bit of drama over nothing.”

Fans Aren’t Pleased

These statements haven’t lessened fans’ concerns, or anger, about Yellowstone‘s fate. Many fans expressed their outrage over the show’s delay in the comments section of its April 10 post on social media.

The post is a short video of Costner’s John Dutton saying he needs a drink. Text over the video reads, “And it’s only Monday,” while the accompanying caption says, “A new work week? No thanks.”

Some of the comments left by upset followers on Instagram include:

“Loving this show is like meeting the love of your life, but then they leave you. It’s disappointing not finish watching and have to wait for so long to resume. You lose Passion for it.”

“When is the next episode coming on. To[o] many stories to complete. This could go on for months.”

“Done with Duttons! Get the show on the road or get out!!”

“Where is the second half of season 5, please?”

My question…does anyone have the slightest idea when this crazy show will comeback? Or does anyone even care anymore…asking for a friend.”

Facebook followers also left less-than-happy comments on the same video. Some of those comments being:

“We all are gonna need a drink, if this show ends….”

“How about the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone Kevin Costner!!!”

“Come back, Kevin. Serve the story.”

“Finish what you started Costner or write him off and continue the show!”

“…can’t you come to an agreement, for the fans, for the viewers.”
