Zach Bryan has entered the chat…once again. The “Something In The Orange” singer seemingly started a social media war between himself and singer Walker Hayes.

It all began when Bryan was trying to call out country radio in a post on the social media platform X.

He saw a post that was celebrating Tyler Childers’ first-ever charting single on mainstream country radio for his song “In Your Love.”

Bryan wrote, “‘First ever’ is f***in insane, one of the best songwriters to ever do it”

In response to a fan agreeing with him, the singer continued to speak his mind by writing, “Imagine being radio (whoever the hell that is), hearing Shake the Frost and being like ‘no no let’s go with the Applebees song’”

“Shake The Frost” is a song that Tyler Childers performs live, dating back to 2013.

Hayes actually responded to the post, writing, “Big shout to radio for playing dat Applebees song Zach and Tyler praying y’alls continued success.”

Bryan replied to a fan calling him out for bashing “Fancy Like,” explaining that he didn’t mean to put Hayes’ down, he was just shocked at country radio not giving Childers the same air time.

“Not insulting anyone! Meant it with humor not malice, different strokes different folks was just bent about the first ever on mainstream radio thing my bad.”

Now that he is a little bit removed from the back-and-forth, Hayes shared a song he wrote and recorded about the situation.

In the caption, he revealed that he had so many different “smart ass” responses to Bryan’s post ready to go, but he was happy with the one he gave, and so were his friends.

“Took me 18 years to feed my kids with music and I’ll still knock something I hear on the radio cuz I didn’t write it,” he said. “So, we tried our best to put it all in a Twanger. And this is what we got. I hope it makes y’all talk about stuff that matters.”

The song, which does not have a title, actually praises Zach Bryan – who has had lots of commercial success early on in his career. See the lyrics below.

“Well, I woke up this morning, read something mean

Something in the orange tells me you’re feelin’ green

Felt like throwin’ punches, but I just held ’em back

‘Cause Jesus didn’t die for me, so I could fight with Zach Bryan,

No hard feelings, cause man I’d be lyin’

If I said I ain’t never talked sh*t about a radio record

‘Cause I thought mine was better

It’s kinda funny, oughta feel half hypocritical

Making money, making songs,

‘Cause I know

Most of us die, trying to be Zach Bryan”

Bryan saw the song on Instagram, and responded in his Instagram Stories.

He at first laughed and wrote, “Hope @walkerhayes know I wasn’t trying to insult him even remotely. I was speaking on the terms on Childers finally getting on country radio. I compared the Applebees song to Shake the Frost. Sorry if it came off slighted, wasn’t intended to be mean towards anyone except radio.”
