What To Know About Zach Top

Right now, Zach Top’s name is everywhere as he makes waves in the country music scene. The fast-rising singer has become one of today’s hottest breakout stars thanks to his traditional voice and style. His voice has even drawn comparisons to the legendary Alan Jackson.

Top released his debut single, “Sounds Like The Radio,” in January. Soon after, he dropped his first album, Cold Beer & Country Music, in the spring.

Since then, he’s had an incredible year, achieving more in a short time than many do in twice as long. The 27-year-old’s talent landed him a spot as an opening act on Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again Tour. Fittingly, he’s also set to open for several dates of Alan Jackson’s Last Call: One More For The Road Tour in 2025.

Top’s achievements don’t stop there though. He’s also nominated for his first-ever CMA award this year for New Artist of the Year.

Everything seems to be happening at once for Top, which can make it tough to take it all in. However, he recalls the moment everything changed so quickly.

Zach Top Recalls The Moment He Realized His Career Was Taking Off

During an appearance on the Sprout podcast, he shared the moment he realized his entire career had shifted in the blink of an eye. To Top’s surprise, a song he didn’t expect to take off played a big role in that.

“We were playing like 200 or 300 cap rooms and hoping maybe 100 or 150 show up to make it feel full enough,” Top admitted. “Then all of the sudden, everything started selling out in advance and we’re showing up knowing we’re playing to a full room. And rooms just kept getting bigger and bigger.”

“‘I Never Lie’ has kind of been the thing off the record that’s really poked its head up.”

“I Never Lie” has become Top’s most recognized song after going viral on social media. It debuted at number 95 on Billboard’s Hot 100, marking his first entry on the chart. The song has also reached number 26 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

And for Top, it was actually surprising to him that this particular song was the one to be his breakout hit.

It’s funny. That’s either my favorite or second favorite song on the record. But I wasn’t expecting that one to be the one that kind of takes off and be the ‘hit’ so to speak of the whole thing. It’s cool.”

Zach Top’s “Cold Beer & Country Music” Tour

Fans will get the chance to hear Top’s breakout song “I Never Lie” and more when he goes on his first headlining tour next year.

In September, Top announced his “Cold Beer & Country Music” tour, which will have 13 shows across the U.S. with special guests Jake Worthington and Cole Goodwin.

The shows will kick off on January 16 in Omaha, Nebraska, and the tour will wrap up on March 8 in Atlanta, Georgia.
