Last night, the 2024 ACM Awards, known as “Country Music’s Party of the Year,” lit up Frisco, Texas, at the Ford Center for the second consecutive year.

Country music fans had a night to remember at the 2024 ACM Awards, as they had the chance to soak up every moment of the excitement during the live broadcast. With Reba McEntire taking the stage as host for the 16th time, viewers were treated to the joy of witnessing their favorite artists claim awards and deliver iconic performances.

Big names from the country music world graced the event, bringing star power to the night. However, a few notable absences didn’t go unnoticed, leaving fans wondering about some of their favorite artists’ whereabouts.

See below a list of country artists who did not attend the 2024 ACM Awards.

For the second year in a row, it appears that Carrie Underwood opted to skip the awards show. This year, she wasn’t nominated in any category and didn’t have a performance scheduled. This decision isn’t unexpected, as she is preparing for her REFLECTION residency to resume in Las Vegas next week.

Dolly Parton

The Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton, opted not to attend this year’s ACM Awards after co-hosting the event last year. Alongside Garth Brooks, Parton hosted the previous year’s awards show. However, it was announced that both had declined the offer to return for this year’s gig. While the exact reasons for their decision remain unclear, given her packed schedule, it’s understandable why Parton might have decided to sit out this year’s awards show. She released her new rock album, “Rockstar,” in November, and has been involved in numerous other projects, including her line of baking products, her Imagination Library initiative, and a new cookbook co-authored with her sister, Rachel.

Garth Brooks

Following Dolly Parton’s decision to skip this year’s show after co-hosting last year’s event, Garth Brooks also opted not to attend. Instead, he has been busy with various projects, such as the recent opening of his new Nashville bar, “Friends In Low Places.” Additionally, Brooks has been involved in managing his own radio station, The Big 615 Country Radio, which could have contributed to his absence from last night’s event.

Katelyn Brown

Katelyn Brown, wife of Kane Brown, didn’t make an appearance alongside her husband at the ACM Awards, even though he was nominated for Entertainer of the Year. The likely reason for her absence is that Katelyn is very pregnant. She and Kane announced that they are expecting their first son on Christmas Day, which means Katelyn could possibly be due very soon.

Megan Moroney

Megan Moroney may have won New Female Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards this year, but she wasn’t able to attend to accept her award in person. The reason is that she is currently on the road with Kenny Chesney, opening for him on his Sun Goes Down Tour.

Luke Combs

Luke Combs snagged the win for Song of the Year this year with his cover of “Fast Car.” However, the country sensation didn’t show up to the event. The reason likely stems from him currently being on tour, with shows scheduled throughout for his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old world tour.

Morgan Wallen

It was speculated that Morgan Wallen would perform alongside Post Malone at this year’s ACM Awards, singing their new song “I Had Some Help.” Ultimately, Post Malone ended up performing the song without Wallen. While it’s unclear why Wallen didn’t show up, he did tease a new song on Instagram at the exact same time he was expected to be on stage at the ACM Awards.

Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan decided to skip the ACM Awards once again this year. Without any nominations or scheduled performances, it makes sense that he would opt out. More than likely, Bryan is busy with American Idol, which is filming its season finale this coming Sunday.

Keith Urban

Keith Urban was a no-show at this year’s ACM Awards.  Although Urban has a new song out with Lainey Wilson, who won Entertainer of the Year, he was absent from the event. It’s likely that Urban was busy with a scheduled performance or simply chose to enjoy some time out of the spotlight.

Sara Evans
