Brantley Gilbert Releases His Latest Album, Tattoos
The country/rock star officially dropped his seventh studio album on Friday, September 13, and it is arguably one of Gilbert’s most personal projects yet.
According to Gilbert, his new album captures the current chapter of his life, with each track telling a story about his personal journey and experiences. He named the album Tattoos because, much like his own tattoos, the songs represent important moments in his life.
“All my albums, they capture a chapter of my life,” he said in a statement prior to the album’s release. “If somebody wants to know who I am, what I’ve been through and where I stand, they can start at the beginning and listen through, and that’s why it was undeniable that Tattoos should be the title—because my tattoos do the same thing.
“People get ‘em for a lot of reasons, but for most of us, tattoos talk about our victories and losses, our struggles and the whole nine,” he continued. “I was one of those kids who had to learn the hard way. But if I would’ve listened to the advice of others, I don’t know I would have ended up where I am.”
The album features 10 tracks, all co-written by Gilbert and his longtime collaborators.
“These 10 songs highlight everything from my faith to my family to everyday life and give a snapshot as to where I am right now as a husband, a father, and just a man,” Gilbert shared on his Instagram page.
Four of the tracks are collaborations with fellow country stars, including Justin Moore, Struggle Jennings, Ashley Cooke, and Rascal Flatts’ lead vocalist Gary LeVox.
