On Christmas day in 2022, Cody Johnson shared a special acoustic rendition of “Silent Night” featuring his wife and daughters.
Cody Johnson has been married to his wife, Brandi, since 2008. The pair welcomed their first daughter, Clara Mae, in 2015 and their second, Cori, in 2017.
The video, which features the family singing together in front of the fireplace, was originally filmed in 2021. Upon sharing it, Cody Johnson said:
“A very special acoustic version of Silent Night featuring Brandi and our daughters, Clara and Cori, is on my channel now. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, from my family to yours.”
The history of “Silent Night”
“Silent Night” is the world’s most recorded Christmas song, with over 137,000 known recordings since the initial instance in 1905.
The carol was originally composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber, with lyrics by Joseph Mohr, in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria. “Stille Nacht,” as it was known in the original language, tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The song continues to transcend generations, languages, and cultures and was declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2011.

The Johnson family sings “Silent Night”
Clara and Cori, who would have been roughly 6 and 4 years old at the time, deliver the first verse of “Silent Night.” It’s clear that musical aptitude runs in the family, as the young girls recite every word by heart.
Brandi joins in on the second verse, and finally, Cody joins to finish out the song.
