Season 24 of The Voice Premiered On Monday, September 25th And New Coach Reba McEntire Was Winning Nearly Every Singer She Turned For

Her first order of business as the Queen of The Voice, was to get her first member of Team Reba! She did exactly this with a talented singer by the name of Jordan Rainer, beating out all three coaches!

Next up, she and fellow coaches Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend were treated to Jackson Snelling’s Blind Audition to the tune of Justin Moore’s poignant song “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.”

Jackson’s voice was absolutely perfect for this song, and he was able to convey the right emotions to really tug at your heartstrings and believe that he knew what it felt like to sing about a loved one who had passed on.

Gwen turned her chair first, shortly before Reba did, and the No Doubt singer tried to block Reba with her own body! Both singers tried their best to convince Jackson to join their team. Gwen leveraged her marriage to Blake Shelton and their two country hits together, while Reba spoke about being a third generation “rodeo brat,” growing up in Oklahoma, and having a country career for 40+ years.

While Gwen did put up a good fight, she really didn’t stand a chance against Reba, especially when Jackson revealed that he grew up on her music. He also revealed that his has autism and that music has really helped him throughout his life as he navigsted life on the autism spectrum.

After Jackson picked Reba, they hugged and in an interview, she said, “What I listen for when I hear a country performer is not too much tryin’, just honest country singin’. And for Jackson to come up and do that took a lot of courage and I’m very proud to have him on my team!”
