on Jun 25, 2026

Beth and Rip have some unfinished business to see to on Dutton Ranch.
On Wednesday (June 24), Paramount announced that Dutton Ranch has been renewed for a second season. The series, which is a spin-off of Taylor Sheridan‘s Yellowstone, debuted on Paramount+ on May 15.
The news came as no surprise, since Dutton Ranch has been a ratings juggernaut. It shattered the record for the largest series premiere on Paramount+, attracting 12.9 million viewers within 7 days.

After learning that Dutton Ranch is getting another season, fans quickly chimed in to voice what they want to see the most. Many of the comments on the show’s Instagram announcement were making a similar demand and call for change:
“Please center season 2 more on Beth and Rip instead of making them a subplot in their own show!”
“More Beth and Rip scenes ! I always look forward to seeing them on my screen.”
“Yes they need to build out a new world, but still give us the feel that this is Beth and Rips [sic] show.”
“Will Rip and Beth have more meaningful scenes in S2? Or will they still just ride horses for a couple of minutes and turn everything else over to Beulah and the granddaughter?”
“I agree focus on Beth and Rip’s relationship more. They are why we are watching the show. Their characters and chemistry are what drove us to want this show.”
“Please focus more on Beth and Rip’s relationship in season 2! Would love to see more romance and passion between them again!”
“Beth and Rip are like supporting characters. They should be in the lead roles.”
“Seems pretty evident based on these comments that the fans want to see MORE scenes with Beth and Rip together in season 2! Please and thank you.”
Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) are the lead characters on Dutton Ranch. Reilly and Hauser reprised their roles from Yellowstone, as did Finn Little, who plays Carter.
But the show also features a robust cast of new characters, including Beulah (Annette Bening), Oreana (Natalie Alyn-Lind), Rob-Will (Jai Courtney), Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba), Azul (J.R. Villarreal), and Everett (Ed Harris)
Do you agree with the fans who think Dutton Ranch needs to focus more on Beth and Rip? Or do you think the show has done a good job at balancing the duo’s screen time with the other characters?
