Bryan Sings His Heartfelt Track “Jesus ‘Bout My Kids” During Easter Sunday Special
Luke Bryan sits on the panel of judges for the nation’s beloved singing competition, American Idol. This year, the three judges include Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and the “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” singer.
All three judges have spoken about their faith in this season of American Idol and beyond. Although none of them are Christian artists, their writing has Christian themes. Carrie Underwood has even released a Gospel album of her own, My Savior.
Luke Bryan released a song in 2024 titled “Jesus ‘Bout My Kids.”
The song tells the story of a father who spends his children’s early years teaching them about Jesus and salvation. As his children grow older, he dedicates his later years to praying for them. The narrative seems to be told from Luke’s point of view, reflecting his personal relationship with his own kids.
The first verse goes,
“I used to talk to my kids about Jesus
The same way that my mom and daddy did
I used to talk to my kids about Jesus
Now I talk to Jesus ’bout my kids”

Bryan Brought His Christian Hit To The American Idol Stage
On Easter Sunday, American Idol aired a three-hour gospel episode during which each contestant performed a song of faith.
Unsurprisingly, Luke Bryan sang his heartfelt original. Alone on stage, with images of his children displayed behind him, Bryan delivered a poignant rendition live.
The song conveys a message of a parent’s love and their hope for their children’s salvation.
You do your best to steer ’em straight
Tell ’em ’bout who He is and ain’t
And answer all their questions
Even though you’ve got some too
