Kelly Clarkson is in the midst of the 4th season of her Emmy Award-winning talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

As fans know, she kicks off every episode of her show with the incredible segment called Kellyoke, where she takes fan requests and sings covers of songs from all genres, including songs by Adele, Katy Perry, Olivia Newton-John, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and so many more.

For her show airing on January 4th, Kelly chose to do a cover of her good friend Blake Shelton’s song “Honey Bee,” which he released in 2011.

The song was written by Rhett Akins and Ben Hayslip and released on Shelton’s 2011 album Red River Blue. “Honey Bee” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance, but was beat out by Taylor Swift’s song “Mean.”

Clarkson took Shelton’s 11-year-old song and made it seem like a brand-new one – even though we’ve listened to Shelton’s version probably 100 times! Once you press play on the video below, you won’t regret it. Clarkson brings a fun, and dare we say, even more country version to her audience.

We’d definitely love to see Clarkson and Shelton duet on this one in the future! Maybe next season on The Voice, which will be Shelton’s last!
