Kelly Clarkson might just be the most relatable celebrity, thanks to her social media posts – and now her talk show!

In a unique way of wishing her mom a happy birthday back in 2018, the original American Idol winner showcased some of the impeccable DIY crafting her mom was famous for back in the day. Everyone has taken school photos, or even professional photos when they were a kid.

Turns out, Kelly’s mom, Jeannie Taylor, was not a fan of the plain backgrounds these services provided, so when she got the prints, she took it upon herself to spice it up a little bit!

Jeannie would cut out the photos of her kids and glue them on different backgrounds. Kelly got her hands on one of these DIY photos and shared it with her 12+ million Twitter followers, in honor of her mother’s birthday.

“The time in my life when my mom would cut out our pictures and put different geographical locations behind us to spice up the art,” she wrote. “I love you mom! Happy birthday to the coolest mom ever!”

Young Kelly had her hair in a half-up-half-down hairstyle, and wore and blue striped shirt with a white skirt. In the photo, she is leaning on a strategically placed (by her mom) rock in front of a lake.

Check out the photo below.

Luckily she went into the background of the story as to why her mom did this during a segment on her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, in March 2020.

“We were real broke…my mom would do this thing where we couldn’t afford to go on vacations, so she just cut our pictures out around our head and then placed us in landscapes. So this was my favorite trip to the Swiss Alps,” she said showing off a grade school-aged photo of herself.
