Lainey Wilson Shares New Music Videos For “Hang Tight Honey” And “4X4XU”
Lainey Wilson started a story in her music video for “Hang Tight Honey” and continued that story in her newly released music video for another song, “4X4XU.”
Wilson released the video for “Hang Tight Honey” on Wednesday (July 3). The retro-themed clip shows her traveling across the country with her band to make money at various TV gigs.
Backstage, sparks fly between Wilson and one of her crew members. When the band takes off from their last performance, the couple stays behind with a suitcase full of money in tow.
The “Hang Tight Honey” video ended with the words “To be continued” on the screen. In an Instagram post made after the video dropped, Wilson revealed that the story would continue in a video for her song “4X4XU.”
“In more ways than one, ‘4x4xU’ is a continuation of my story and a direct follow-up to Hang Tight Honey. So we had to make a couple music videos to match,” she said.
Wilson Brings The Romance To Her New Music Video
Wilson released the music video for “4X4XU” on Thursday (July 4). The clip picks up where the “Hang Tight Honey” video left off, showing Wilson and her love interest driving away in a Ford pickup truck.
The romantic video shows the Grand Ole Opry member having the time of her life while traveling the open road with the one she loves. They eventually end up riding horses and watching a stunning sunset in the country. The video concludes with Wilson hopping behind the wheel of the truck and driving off into the night.
In real life, Wilson is dating former NFL star Devlin “Duck” Hodges. He does not play her love interest in the “4X4XU” video. However, based on what Wilson had to say about the track, he certainly inspired her to write it.

“4X4XU” is one of the new songs featured on Wilson’s upcoming album, Whirlwind, which drops on August 23. Wilson offers a subtle nod to the record at the end of her music video, as the truck’s license plate reads “W082324.”
