Luke Combs Drops New Album “Fathers & Sons” Just In Time For Father’s Day

On June 6, Luke Combs announced his fifth studio album, Fathers & Sons, would be released on Friday, June 14.
“Excited to announce my new album, Fathers & Sons will be out NEXT Friday, June 14,” he wrote alongside the album cover, which featured a black-and-white photo of him, his dad, and his two sons, Tex and Beau.
Combs spoke to Taste of Country Nights about the direction his music has taken since he became a father and husband, especially since he began releasing snippets of “sentimental dad songs.”
“Obviously, that’s kind of where my headspace is. It’s just kind of hard to write or focus on anything else other than that. That’s what my world is right now,” Combs said. “I’m lucky to get to spend three or four days a week at home with the kids. We play two nights a week, so the rest of the days I’m home with them. That’s what I’m doing. I go out and play some shows and come home and make breakfast and lunches and naps and diapers.”

When he announced the album, he revealed that “The Man He Sees In Me” would be the first single off the album. Lucky for us, he dropped the single that day! He first teased the single on March 13 and it is all about living up to his children’s expectations. In it, he sings, “I hope he never finds out that I didn’t hang the moon /And I’ve never scared a monster out the closet in his room / Someday between him leaving home and driving on my knee / Maybe I’ll finally be, the man he sees in me.”
