Man Slapped By Girlfriend After Proposing To Her With Ring Pop

A man attending the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball game was slapped over the weekend after proposing to his girlfriend with a lollipop ring.

Video footage showed the two walking through the stands on the way to their seats when he turned around and tugs his confused girlfriend in close to give her a kiss while professing his love for her.

The scene took place in front of thousands as many of the onlookers pulled out their phones to take a video of the romantic moment unfolding before them. Even the official media teams pointed their cameras on the couple so fans were able to watch on the big screen.

The man kneeled down on one knee as she gasped and put her hand over her mouth having an idea of what was about to come. He pulls a black box out of his left jean pocket and opens it up to reveal a red candy Ring Pop.

It was unclear if the marriage proposal was real or if it was a prank but it certainly left those on social media going back and forth on who they thought was in the right and who they thought was in the wrong.

Some defended the boyfriend and believed that he was going to propose with an actual ring right after doing his prank. As you can see in the video, he had something else, maybe a box with an expensive diamond engagement ring in his left pocket.

Whether he did or didn’t, that didn’t matter because she walked away and others on social media took her side on the matter.

One person commented in the video, “The guy pulled a jerk move. If he cannot be serious for something important imagine what type of clown he is day to day.”

Another person chimed in and said that if that’s how their relationship was going to look in the future then he should move on.

Another commenter said, “That’s an indication of how the rest of his life would go marrying her…move on dude.”

Hundreds of people commented on how it was a “big relationship red flag” moment and that she was lucky to have escaped. However, others were sympathetic to the boyfriend saying that it was unfair to slap him and pour her drink on him.

A user said, “I get that she didn’t like this, but it’s no reason to slap him across the face. Especially in front of thousands.”
