Morgan Wallen References His Shortcomings In New Song

Is fatherhood changing Morgan Wallen for the better? As he finalizes his next album, I’m The Problem, the Tennessee native is giving fans a glimpse into what is to come.

The song is reflective in nature and centers around the idea that “Superman is still just a man sometimes.”

Right out of the gate, Morgan references one of his most public blunders. He was arrested in April 2024 on felony charges after allegedly throwing a chair off of the rooftop of Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar.

The opening line of the song reads:

“One day you’re gonna see my mug shot, from a night when I got a little too drunk…”

What was the outcome of the chair-throwing incident?

According to News Channel 5, Wallen was originally charged with “three counts of reckless endangerment for the two officers who were in the vicinity and for the danger to the public…Wallen was also charged with disorderly conduct.”

However, the felony reckless endangerment charges were reduced to misdemeanors by the end of last year.

On December 12th, the “Last Night” singer pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts and was sentenced to serve seven days in a DUI education center and two years of probation.

After the hearing, Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson IV, shared in a statement:

“Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”

Along with the teaser of his latest song, Wallen got real about the experience of writing something meaningful for his son. He wrote:

“Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it.”
