Morgan Wallen Shares Preview Of Sentimental New Music
Morgan Wallen is finding inspiration for new music from his 4-year-old son.
Wallen welcomed his son Indie (short for Indigo) with his ex-girlfriend KT Smith on July 10, 2020. Despite having a superstar father, Indie is mostly kept out of the spotlight. His parents occasionally share photos of him enjoying boyhood, complete with trucks and dirt.
On Monday (Feb 24), Wallen shared a teaser of a song called “Superman,” which he says was written for Indie. With the clip, he wrote:
“Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it.”
The New Song Makes Reference To The Infamous Chair-Throwing Incident
In April 2024, Morgan Wallen was arrested on felony charges after throwing a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s bar in downtown Nashville. No one was hurt in the incident, but the chair reportedly landed near two police officers who were standing on the street in front of the establishment.
News of his arrest spread like wildfire as did his mugshot, where the 31-year-old is seen grinning from ear to ear.
The “Last Night” singer pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts in a deal that reduced the charges from felonies. He was sentenced to seven days in a DUI education center and two years probation.
Due to his fame, Wallen acknowledges that he will not be able to hide these shortcomings from his son. The teaser of the new song begins with the lyrics:
“One day you’re gonna see my mugshot, from a night when I got a little too drunk…”
Morgan Wallen’s Next Album To Be Released This Year
Last month, Morgan Wallen announced that his fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, is in the works. The title track was released on January 31st and has already landed in the top 10 of the Billboard 100 chart.
Specific details for the album, like the release date, have not yet been shared. Judging by the comments sections, fans are already eager to hear the full version of “Superman” and hope it will be included in the album.
