People’s Choice Awards Reveal Nominees For 2024 Ceremony, Including The Country Categories
The fan-voted People’s Choice Awards were first awarded in 1975. The awards recognize various areas of entertainment, including the music industry.
The ceremony originally aired on CBS, and remained on the network until 2017.
E! picked up the People’s Choice Awards in 2018. It remains a sponsor of the program, which has aired on its network and NBC since 2021.
Country music has been honored at the regular People’s Choice Awards for years. But in 2023, they took things a step further by introducing the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards.
The ceremony aired in September, and was a highlight of the year. Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, and Lainey Wilson were some of the biggest winners. Toby Keith received the inaugural Country Icon Award, and Wynonna Judd earned the first Country Champion Award.
