Post Malone, primarily known for his contributions to the hip-hop and pop genres, has once again showcased his versatile musical talents and deep appreciation for country music.

This time, Malone paid homage to one of country music’s icons, Garth Brooks, by covering his legendary hit “Friends In Low Places.”

Austin Richard Post, better known by his stage name Post Malone, has continually blurred the lines between music genres throughout his career. Despite being best recognized for hits like “Circles” and “Rockstar,” he has never hesitated to express his admiration for country music and its significant influence on his artistry.

Malone has openly shared his love for artists such as Johnny Cash, George Strait, and, of course, Garth Brooks.

In an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Malone revealed his openness to exploring country music further, stating:

“To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album and me just putting it on YouTube. I’m allowed to do that.”

Malone’s dedication to showcasing his love for country music was evident during the 2021 “We’re Texas” virtual concert, which he described as the “top 10 best days of my life.”

Here, Malone delivered captivating renditions of Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her” and Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have The Crown.”

Further solidifying his connection to country music, Malone recently took the stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, to perform Hank Williams Sr.’s “Honky Tonk Blues.”

This performance, along with his tribute to Joe Diffie alongside Morgan Wallen and HARDY at the 2023 CMA Awards, has fueled widespread speculation about his venture into country music.

Confirming these speculations, Post Malone has announced his plans to release a country album, exciting fans with the promise of new, genre-blending work.

Adding to the anticipation, Post Malone has been teasing upcoming collaborations with notable country artists Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs.

In a recent display of his evolving musical journey, listeners were treated to Malone’s rendition of “Friends In Low Places.” At the end of the video, Malone hinted at his upcoming country set at Stagecoach 2024, saying, “Stagecoach will be fun,” further indicating his commitment to embracing and contributing to the country music genre.
