Country Band Rascal Flatts Retired In 2020

In January 2020, Rascal Flatts announced they would be heading out on a Farewell Tour. They released the following statement regarding them going their separate ways after the tour.

“When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places and gifts we would encounter. As we head out on the Rascal Flatts Farewell – Life is A Highway Tour, there is no sadness. Just new chapters, new journeys, and new beginnings,” read the statement.

They made it clear that the band wasn’t breaking up because there was bad blood. Jay DeMarcus reassured fans, “We still love each other.”

As we all know, they were forced to cancel the entire tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Not being able to say goodbye to their fans was “hard,” and it felt like it was “stripped away” from them, according to DeMarcus in a 2021 interview.

A few hours later, more country stars were announced as performers at the balls following the ceremony. Those stars included Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean and Rascal Flatts.

LeVox confirmed the news by making a statement on his Instagram page.

“I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States,” he wrote alongside a carousel of photos . “I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the commanders ball and I am so looking forward to it…It will be a night to remember!”

Seeing as their first Life Is A Highway Tour date is February 13, the Inauguration Ball marks their first performance since their reunion.
