Reba McEntire Shares Her Special New Year’s Resolutions

Ahead of Monday night’s (Dec. 18) episode of The Voice, the country superstar spoke with PEOPLE, offering a glimpse into the elements of her life that bring her joy.

“I’m at a really good place in my life,” Reba expressed. “I’m happy, I’m in love. My kids are all healthy. My family’s healthy. So I’m happy,” she added.

Reba, 68, is currently in a relationship with actor Rex Linn.

Their romantic connection first blossomed after a decades-long friendship, with the challenge of physical distance during quarantine back in 2020. Despite the separation, they found joy in virtual “coffee camp” dates, and Rex creatively bridged the gap by sending Reba delectable treats.

On her podcast, Living & Learning with Reba McEntire, Reba gleefully shared some of her favorite delights from Rex, ranging from lobster rolls to mouthwatering pecan pie.

What Are Reba’s New Year’s Resolutions?

Approaching the year-end, the country superstar has charted out resolutions for the upcoming New Year, covering both her personal and professional aspirations.

“Professional would be to continue doing what I love to do. Say no to the things that won’t be fun. Say yes to the things that will be,” she said. “Personal is to have fun — just continue being happy and healthy. That’s what I pray for daily.”

Reba’s First-Ever Season As A Coach On The Voice

Reba also spoke with PEOPLE about the emotions of her team members as they approached the high-stakes finale of Season 24 of The Voice, which featured two standout contestants from Team Reba: Jacquie Roar and Ruby Leigh. On Monday night (Dec. 18), they each delivered two stunning performances for their final battle towards the win. For Roar, it was covers of “Nights in White Satin” and “More Than a Feeling,” while Leigh sang “Desperado” and “Suspicious Minds.”

“They’re nervous. Absolutely. And I’m just telling ’em, get out there and have fun. You’re prepared, you’re ready to go. You know what you’re doing. Focus. Get out there and have fun,” she said.

Win or lose, Reba said they will “go eat pizza and have fun.”
