During Riley Green’s set, he invited local favorite Zach Top to join him on stage. The two sang Toby Keith’s iconic “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.”
This classic tune celebrates the rugged spirit of country life and was the perfect choice for the duo, especially with Zach Top’s mission to revive that beloved ’90s country sound.

Released in 1993, “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” marked Toby’s debut single and earned him his first number-one hit. Since his passing in February, many country artists have performed the song to honor Toby. Riley Green even teamed up with the legendary Tracy Lawrence to perform the song back in April during a stop on Riley’s Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour.
Mark your calendars for next year’s Watershed Festival, and keep your fingers crossed for more surprise collaborations! In the meantime, watch Riley Green and Zach Top’s rendition of “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” below!

It turns out that this wasn’t Riley Green and Zach Top’s first rodeo together.
The duo performed the same duet earlier this summer the night before the Indianapolis 500. Riley headlined the Firestone Legends Day Concert at the Everwise Amphitheater in Indianapolis and invited Zach on stage. Just like their more recent performance at Watershed, they absolutely rocked “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.”
Fans noticed that Zach Top even wore the same striped pearl snap shirt at both events!
