Zach Top Delivers Stunning National Anthem Performance Before NFL Matchup
on Oct 27, 2024
Zach Top had the honor of singing the national anthem before an NFL game Sunday, and brought the house down with his rendition.
Zach Top, one of country music’s greatest rising stars, was tapped to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” prior to Sunday’s (October 27) NFL matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles held at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Who Is Zach Top?
Washington-born Top is a bluegrass-turned-country singer who is taking the genre by storm with his classic country voice and style. He released his debut single, “Sounds Like The Radio,” in January as the lead track from his first studio album, Cold Beer & Country Music.

Zach’s success led him to a spot as an opening act for Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again Tour, and he will be opening for several dates of Alan Jackson’s Last Call: One More For The Road Tour in 2025.
Top’s unprecedented success has also launched him into the national spotlight with the opportunity to sing the national anthem, perhaps one of the most nerve-wracking and incredible honors an artist can receive.

Zach Top’s National Anthem Performance
Zach Top stood mid-field prior to the kickoff of Sunday’s matchup between the Bengals and Eagles and delivered a flawless rendition of our country’s anthem. His performance was smooth, simple, and without frills … a choice that fans were thrilled with.
Viewers took to social media to praise Top following his performance, saying:
Zach’s performance came two days after Brad Paisley kicked off the 2024 World Series in Los Angeles with a performance of his own.
Prior to singing the anthem, Paisley shared that he wasn’t nervous but was well aware that anthem performances often go viral, and not always for a good reason.
“You totally think about the viral possibility, but anything viral on the national anthem is not usually good,” he said. “The best you can hope for is this is [that it’s] relegated to the back page of YouTube quickly and that there are five home runs tonight,” Paisley said.
No doubt Zach was feeling similar sentiments but was likely crossing his fingers for a Chris Stapleton-esque reaction. Stapleton’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled” banner at the 2023 Super Bowl was considered one of the best ever, rivaled only by Whitney Houston’s performance at the event in 1991.
If early fan reaction is any indication, Zach Top nailed his performance. Check out the video of Zach Top singing the national anthem below, and chime in to let us know what you think!
