Zelenskyy Ready To Work With Trump And “Make Things Right” After Oval Office Blowup

The President And VP Exchange Contentious Words With Volodymyr Zelenskyy In The Oval Office
A meeting between President Donald Trump, Vice-President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy turned heated on Friday, February 28th. The political figures gathered at the White House to discuss a possible deal on Ukraine’s rare-earth minerals between the two nations.
However, the conversation shifted, and Vance and Zelenskyy strongly debated what it looks like to pursue peace with diplomacy. Zelenskyy questioned how the United States has been diplomatic in its affairs since 2014. This prompted Vance to fire back:
“Do you think it’s respectful to come to the Oval Office of the United States of America and attack the administration that is trying to prevent the destruction of your country?”
Trump jumped in, and the two presidents began a heated exchange in which Trump repeatedly reminded the Ukrainian President that he was “not in a very good place right now.”
Ultimately, Trump labeled Zelenskyy’s behavior in the meeting as disrespectful, and no agreement was reached. See the full exchange below.
Watch this carefully. Very important.

Trump And Vance Speak Out After The Heated Encounter
After the meeting concluded, Trump shared a statement on Truth Social and asserted that he does not believe Zelenskyy is yet ready for peace.
Additionally, JD Vance shared his thoughts in a conversation with Fox News. He recounted the argument and acknowledged that the comment about pursuing a diplomatic end to the war is what “set Zelenskyy off.”
Vance concluded that the Ukrainian leader acted with a “lack of respect and a certain sense of entitlement” and added:
“The President has set a very clear goal for his administration. He wants the killing to stop. President Zelenskyy and, of course, President Putin must come to the negotiating table, and that’s ultimately where things broke apart.”
President Zelenskyy Says He Is Ready To “Make Things Right”
As the dust settled following the blowup in the Oval Office, President Zelenskyy shared a statement online Tuesday morning reiterating “Ukraine’s commitment to peace.” He writes:
“None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.”
Additionally, Zelenskyy directly addresses Trump and Vance’s accusations that he lacks gratitude for the billions of dollars worth of aid the United States has provided to his country.
“We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this.”
The Ukrainian President acknowledges that the meeting at the White House “did not go as planned” and hopes “future cooperation and communication to be constructive.”
