‘America’s Got Talent’ Remembers Emily Gold As a “Bright Young Soul” In Special Tribute

Emily Gold, a member of the Los Osos High School dance team, sadly passed away at 17-years-old on September 13. Gold and her dance team recently competed on America’s Got Talent this season, making it to the quarterfinals before being eliminated.

Emily Gold tragically passed away from injuries after jumping from an overpass, according to the California Highway Patrol. Her death has been ruled a suicide.

Emily Gold’s Dance Team and Coach Pay Tribute to Her Impact On and Off The Stage

In a statement made to Instagram, the Los Osos dance team remembered Gold for her “kindness, compassion and the most humble heart.”

“She will be remembered as a leader, role model, friend, and sister to her teammates,” the statement read. “Our sweet sweet Emily. We love you endlessly and miss you more than word can ever express. Everything we do is for you, our beautiful Angel.”

Gold’s dance coach, Rachel Muego, who guided the team through their journey on America’s Got Talent, also shared a heartfelt tribute to Emily. In her statement, Muego shared how Gold’s dedication and commitment to the team made them stronger.

“Thank you Em for believing and supporting this team since day 1,” she wrote. “You put your heart and soul into everything we did , big or small, and valued this team no matter what. Through the ups and downs you never ever stopped believing in us.”

The statement went on to acknowledge Gold’s positivity and the light she brought to everyone around her.

“All I keep hearing in my head is your voice, seeing your beautiful smile, hearing your laugh and all of the positive words you’d bring to us daily. You lit up all of our lives and I know you’re going to keep doing just that, shining for us and being that peace and hope that we all need. Em I miss you so much and from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU.”

America’s Got Talent Remembers Emily Gold In a Touching Message

In a Facebook post made a few days after Emily Gold’s Passing, America’s Got Talent shared their condolences to her family and loved ones. AGT also remembered her as a “bright young soul” during her time on the show.

“The AGT Family sends out our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and team members of Emily Gold,” ‘AGT’ wrote. “She was a bright young soul and will be deeply missed.”

The statement was accompanied by a photo of Emily posing in front of a backdrop and a sign that read “AGT,” seemingly taken before one of her performances on the show.
