Billy Ray Cyrus And Actress Elizabeth Hurley Go Public With Their Relationship
On Easter Sunday, Billy Ray Cyrus debuted a brand-new relationship with Elizabeth Hurley on Instagram.
Hurley is best known for her roles in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, The Royals, Runaways, and Gossip Girl, as well as her thirteen-year relationship with Hugh Grant from 1987-2000.
In a photo posted by Hurley, the two can be seen leaning up against a wooden fence. The actress sported a huge smile and a cowboy hat while Cyrus kissed her on the cheek.
Cyrus wore green Easter bunny ears, a denim button-down shirt, and striped pants, while Hurley opted for a blue flannel and blue jeans.
The caption read, “Happy Easter,” alongside a red heart emoji.
How Did They Meet?
Hurley and Cyrus starred alongside each other in the 2022 movie Christmas in Paradise.
Working with Cyrus was a highlight for Hurley, who told MovieWeb in 2022, “That was a big plus. The opportunity to work with Billy Ray, whom I’ve long been a fan of—my son was the age where he used to watch ‘Hannah Montana’ all the time, so of course, I used to watch it with him. I knew Billy Ray really well from that, and of course, some of his music.”
It seems they reconnected once they were both single again and Cyrus was ready to date following his divorce.
The unlikely pair received some shocked reactions on social media from fans and celebrities alike.
“Wait…what?” commented Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert.
“Happy Easter, my darling. I hope you’re having the best time,” wrote Hurley’s friend and entrepreneur Trinny Woodall.
Stylist Ann Carsuo wrote, “Aww Billy Ray Bunny!” while a fan commented, “How many of us were all like WAIT WHAT when we opening [sic] the app and saw this?!!🙋🏼♀️ did not see this one coming.”
Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley, also commented on the Instagram post with a party hat emoji and a red heart.
Damian, 23, is an actor and model born to Hurley and American businessman Steve Bing.
Eagle-eyed fans believe Hurley was dropping clues as early as April 2, with a video set to the tune of Miley Cyrus’s “Something Beautiful.” Hurley also used Billy Ray’s song “She’s Not Cryin’ Anymore” as the soundtrack to her compilation video of her vacation in the Maldives on April 9th.
This Relationship Comes Eight Months After His Divorce Was Finalized
Billy Ray Cyrus and singer Firerose were married on October 10, 2023. Just seven months later, Cyrus filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct. Cyrus actually asked for an annulment, claiming the marriage was “obtained by fraud,” but the divorce was finalized on August 5, 2024.
