Country music sensation Blake Shelton has made headlines once again, this time for securing a walk-on role in an upcoming Mark Wahlberg film.
On May 10, Shelton was honored at the Keep Memory Alive’s 27th Annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas for his philanthropic work.
The gala, known for its lively auctions, witnessed Blake Shelton engaging in a spirited bidding war, ultimately snagging himself a coveted spot in Wahlberg’s movie. The price of his bid? $40,000!
Shelton said in a humorous yet confident remark on stage, “I don’t know if you guys saw the auction earlier. This is maybe the last time I’m ever gonna perform country music. I’m a movie star now. I’m not f****** around.”
Amidst the glitz and glam of the gala, Shelton’s philanthropic work was also celebrated.
Gwen Stefani, Shelton’s wife, took the opportunity to praise his charitable endeavors, highlighting his genuine generosity and unwavering dedication to making a difference.
“His heart is as big as his voice. His talent is obvious and he lights up the room and brings a smile to everyone he meets that makes us all love him so much. So whether he’s supporting an important cause and organizations across the country, he’s an incredible person.”
Stefani continued, “He supports veterans. He supports children’s hospitals, food banks, supports people with disabilities, disaster relief efforts, wildlife conservation or local communities in need. Blake’s generosity is genuine and endless. His dedication to giving back and making a difference and using his platform for good, both publicly and behind the scenes, is truly inspiring.”

In return, Shelton expressed admiration for Stefani, calling her his “secret weapon” before she joined him on stage to perform their hit duet “Nobody But You.” Shelton also revealed to PEOPLE earlier in the night that he doesn’t have to spoil her for Mother’s Day because her sons do an incredible job of honoring her on the special holiday.
“They’re like, no, no, no. We’ve already thought about it. We’re going to make breakfast for her. I always can kind of just take a back seat and watch these boys. They do an incredible job spoiling her,” Shelton shared.
