Carrie Underwood Falls While Walking Off Stage During “Massive Downpour”
on Jun 11, 2024
Carrie Underwood has become the latest country singer to take a tumble during a live show.
Carolina Country Music Fest was from June 6 to June 9 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Over 40 country acts graced the stages over the course of the three-day festival, which was completely sold out.
Old Dominion, Megan Moroney, Kameron Marlowe, The War & Treaty, Morgan Wallen, Lee Brice, Lady A, Parmalee, and Carrie Underwood were the biggest names in the lineup, all performing on the main stage.
Carrie closed out the festival on Sunday, June 9, with a 22-song set that included her hits “Church Bells,” “Blown Away,” “Cry Pretty,” “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Last Name,” and many more!
Like she often does, Underwood closed the show with her iconic hit “Before He Cheats.”
Although her set was well thought out and planned, some things did not go as planned. During her last number, it started to rain. It began as a drizzle and quickly became a “massive downpour.” Underwood didn’t let that stop her, though, and she performed “Before He Cheats” as the rain came beating down. At one point, she giggled as she sang because she couldn’t believe what was happening.
@_chelseak Wait for her laughing in the middle of it 🤣 but she finished CCMF so strong 🙌🏼 Absolute favorite of the weekend!! @Carrie Underwood 🤝🏼 Queen!! @Carolina Country Music Fest #ccmf #carrieunderwood #carolinacountrymusicfestival #myrtlebeach #ccmf2024 ♬ original sound – _chelseak
If you thought the rain wasn’t so bad, think again. Underwood herself posted a video that someone took on stage that showed just how bad the rain was coming down. She shared the video herself on social media and wrote, “We won’t let a little rain stop us! We won’t let a massive downpour stop us, either!”
The rain was one of the unexpected parts of her set, but there was one more – a fall!
As she was walking off stage, Underwood slipped on the small set of stairs she uses to go under the stage. In a video of the incident posted on TikTok, it looks like she just vanished out of thin air! That’s how fast it happened!
Concertgoers could be heard gasping after seeing her take the tumble and say, “She fell!” But it seems like she is a-okay.
“Well, last night sure was fun! And though the ending was quite unexpected, it made for a night we’ll never forget!” she wrote on social media.

The “unexpected” ending she is referring to could be either the torrential downpour or her fall, or both! But, seeing as she didn’t address it, she is probably fine!
She isn’t the only singer to fall on stage, nor will she be the last! She has now followed in the footsteps of Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Carly Pearce, Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs and so many more.
