The Academy of Country Music Awards were scheduled to take place Sunday night (April 5). But, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the awards show was postponed until September. In place of the show, the Academy of Country Music put together a concert special that allowed fans to see some of their favorite artists perform from their own homes.

Hosted by Gayle King, ACM Presents: Our Country featured performances from Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown & John Legend, Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain and many more. One of the most anticipated performances came from Carrie Underwood, a two-time ACM Awards Entertainer of the Year winner.

Carrie performed “Drinking Alone,” a single from her album Cry Pretty, for the television special while sitting on the couch on her living room, a giant glass of wine by her side.

“I’m sad we can’t be there together in person tonight, but I’m glad we can still find ways to be connected and to celebrate community and the healing power of music. So let’s continue to support each other and stay strong until we can be together again. But, right now we have to find things to do while we’re alone…together,” Carrie side while reaching for her glass of wine.

Underwood then belts out a pitch-perfect performance of “Drinking Alone,” eliciting a huge response from her fans online.
