Cole Hauser Drops Hints About “Yellowstone” Spin-Off Following Rip & Beth
on May 08, 2024
What’s Going On With The Yellowstone Spin-Off?
Cole Hauser is giving Yellowstone fans some hope about his potential involvement in a future spin-off series.
To catch you up to speed, Yellowstone is ending after its fifth season. The show has been on hiatus since January 2023, due to rumored behind-the-scenes drama and the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The last episodes of Season 5 (and of the entire show) are slated to start airing in November 2024.
Meanwhile, there’s been a lot of talk about a potential spin-off series. In early 2023, it was confirmed that Matthew McConaughey was tapped to lead the new show.
Then, in November 2023, we learned that the spin-off’s working title is 2024, meaning it will be set in the modern day. The show is expected to follow some of the characters from the main Yellowstone series while introducing some new faces as well.
In January 2024, rumors surfaced that McConaughey may leave the series. These rumors allege that McConaughey is growing aggravated with the salary negotiations.
After that, a report surfaced in April 2024 that Michelle Pfeiffer may join the spin-off instead.
Will Cole Hauser & Kelly Reilly Return For The New Show?
More rumors about salary disputes surfaced in February 2024. This time, the rumors centered on Cole Hauser (Rip), Kelly Reilly (Beth), and Luke Grimes (Kacey). These rumors claimed that the actors have threatened to leave the spin-off if they don’t receive higher salaries.
Reilly dismissed these rumors, saying, “There are discussions, you know. Don’t believe everything you read. It’s just nonsense. But we’re gonna, you know, let’s wait and see. I don’t have an answer right now. But we’ll see.“
Now, Cole Hauser is dropping hints about his and Reilly’s potential involvement in the spin-off series, which may follow Rip and Beth.
Hauser addressed the new show during a recent interview with Country Living. He said:
“I’m so focused on finishing Yellowstone the way it needs to be finished right now—well, just the show itself. We’ll see where that leads, but I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to [Yellowstone creator] Taylor [Sheridan’s] ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself and some of the other cast. I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that but right now it’s just, let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.”
It’s exciting to hear that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan has plans in mind for Beth and Rip’s future. Hopefully, that means they’ll make it out of the Yellowstone series finale unscathed!
