A dog stole the show in a recent exhibition match between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals after catching a home run ball.

The incident occurred during the seventh inning when Michael Busch hit a home run, sending the ball flying over the wall in left-center field.

While fans were eagerly scrambling to get their hands on the souvenir, the dog darted onto the scene and snatched the ball up before anyone else could get their hands on it.

The pup’s quick reflexes and impressive speed made it the clear winner in the race to retrieve the ball, much to the delight of onlookers.

The dog ended up giving the ball to his owner who was wearing a Dodgers jersey with the name “K-9” on the back of it and he held the ball up in the air showing off what his pet had given him.

While the dog’s actions may have been adorable, it sadly didn’t bring any luck to the Dodgers. The team ultimately lost the game 6-3, but the good news is, it was only a practice game.

This isn’t the first time a dog has made waves in the world of baseball. Who can forget the iconic moment when a golden retriever named Renegade retrieved a ball from a Francisco Lindor home run during the 2021 MLB season?

It just goes to show that dogs truly are man’s best friend, even on the baseball diamond.
