10 years ago, Blake Shelton signed on as a coach for Season 1 of a brand-new singing competition show called The Voice. Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera joined him as coaches while Carson Daly hosted.

20 seasons later, Blake Shelton is the only original coach left, so during the two-night Season 20 finale, some past members of his team sent in videos describing how he, and the show, changed their lives.

Shelton’s fiancé, Gwen Stefani, introduced the video saying, “Surprise, Blakey! Obviously you changed my life when I met you my first season on ‘The Voice,’ but I don’t think you realize the impact you have had on so many other people’s lives on the show. And a few of your former artists wanted to make sure you know what you meant to them. Happy 10-year anniversary, we love you so much!

The video included Season 18’s Toneisha Harris, Season 12’s Lauren Duski, Season 18’s Todd Tilgham, Season 19’s Ian Flanigan, Season 2’s Raelynn, Season 4’s The Swon Brothers, Season 3’s champion Cassadee Pope, and Season 4’s winner Danielle Bradbery.

The past contestants explained just how much Blake has been there for them on the show, and even afterwards. He’s always a phone call away and has collaborated with several of them. The Swon Brothers wrote “Body Language,” the title track of Blake’s upcoming album – and they’re featured on it, too!

Even more proof that Blake is supportive of his artists after the show: RaeLynn has a residency this summer every Wednesday at Blake’s Nashville bar Ole Red.

Cassadee has a Grammy nomination for her duet “Think Of You” with Chris Young, which she says wouldn’t have been possible without Blake, and other contestants noted that they have been able to tour with Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, and even Blake himself!

Dang, I can’t talk about this without getting teary-eyed,” Colton Swon of The Swon Brothers said during the video. All in all, every singer had such incredible things to say about the show, and Blake. Watch the full video below.
